Folklore
Folklore, folklore, folklore and folklore (English folk, "people" and lore, the "acquis" to "know" or "knowledge") is the expression of the culture of a people, stories, music, dances, legends, history oral, proverbs, jokes, superstitions, customs, crafts and other, common to a particular population, including the traditions of that culture, subculture or social group. He also is named the study of these materials.
The Anglo-Saxon term "folklore" was coined on Aug. 22, 1846 by British archaeologist William John Thoms, who wanted to create a word to describe what was then called "popular antiquities." The most widely accepted definition for the current research specialty is "artistic communication in small groups", as proposed by the researcher at the University of Pennsylvania Dan Ben-Amos.
